AME HISTORY

It was a shipboard galley breakfast in 2002 with the owner of a brand new Viking Yacht where Viking Yachts President and CEO Pat Healey saw the vision for what would become Atlantic Marine Electronics. Viking has a 51 year history of building some of the boating industry’s most cutting edge and high quality yacht. The company built a reputation for superior components and near total control of every aspect of the design and build of their yachts.

AME was born of a commitment to ensuring that Viking level quality continued in the electronic systems of their yachts.

One year after gathering some of the industry’s most experienced and talented technicians and craftsmen, AME was born. Now the leading maritime electronic system design company, we have completed more than 300 new builds and an endless array of rebuilds, retrofits and other maritime electronic system installs. Our engineering design and custom installation craftsmanship was once a luxury only afforded to owners of Viking Yachts. AME now provides our superior services to boats from an endless list of manufacturers and classes.

Global Reach and Support

With extensive facilities in New Gretna, NJ, Riviera Beach, FL, Bradenton, FL, and most recently Destin, FL, AME has the reach, technical facilities, and teams to provide support wherever you may be. We even have strong support and service relationships with leading providers in the Caribbean and South America.

Our relationship with Viking Group grounds us in a tremendous depth of service and background in technical expertise and quality. More than anything, we have the unparalleled ability to provide each of our clients with truly global reach and support.

Craftsmanship and Superior Technicians

AME’s technical team members (we have more than 50 total across our three facilities) has quantitative experience and rigid training through the National Marine Electronics Association. On staff are CMET (Certified Marine Electronics Technicians) members who are licensed by the FCC with radar endorsements. All members are MEI (Marine Electronics Installers), AMEI (Advanced Marine Electronics Installer) rated with NMEA 2000 curriculums for interface systems found aboard all new Viking yachts and many other vessels.

The AME design team will offer you the perspective and experience needed to design a system that meets and exceeds your expectations. We provide detailed in-house AutoCAD drawings with 3D perspectives to bring concept detail to life.

Today’s electronic helms are a far cry from what was available when the company began, but AME works to establish fresh benchmarks in new yacht installations and service. The complexity of marine electronics can be a daunting experience for some, but AME has the hands on experience to help an owner or a captain connect with the networks to provide safe navigation support wherever the yacht travels.

Atlantic Marine Electronics will work with you to create the helm of your dreams.

Whether your needs are coastal cruising, tournament fishing, or blue-water voyages, AME has the experience, technical expertise and craftsmen-level skill to create the helm of every boater’s dreams. From navigation, communication, and entertainment systems to safety, security, and monitoring systems, AME uses only the superior components from the leading manufacturers to create custom solutions for each owner.
